Happy Monday

Please look for yellow or pink conference letters to come home with your student today! We need parents to select three times that will work for you and return with you student tomorrow.  Picture retakes are Tuesday morning.  Spelling sentences will not be assigned this week due to Halloween.  Thursday, November 1 is PTO Papa's Pizza fundraiser for Ridgeview Elementary School !  Money raised at this fundraiser goes back to your child's classroom to buy much needed supplies for the  classroom as well as funds for future pizza parties, SQUIRT parties, an Ice Cream Sundae reward party as well as other rewards for your student.  Room 13 badly needs speakers for the computer so that students can hear short educational videos which are very motivational for fourth graders.  Without speakers, Room 13 students cannot hear these videos.  Please continue to help your student practice their multiplication facts.  Most 4th grade students are winding up this unit, mastering mixed facts at this time.  Our Ice Cream Sundae Reward Party for multiplication facts will be November 7th and the deadline for  Reading Counts points for this first term is November 20th.  A pizza reward party for students who meet their goal will follow.

This week will follow the regular homework routine with spelling on Monday and Wednesday and math on Tuesday and Thursday.  Spelling  tests will be on Friday.  We continue to work on multiplication facts as we plan for the ice cream sundae celebration. Please be looking for yellow conference letters on Monday, October 29th.  Please sign and choose 3 times that work for you.  Letters will need to be returned the very next day so we can honor your requests.  Conferences will be held on November 8th and 9th.

Fourth grade students at Ridgeview are working hard to memorize their multiplication facts.  It is important that students study their facts each and every night in addition to the time we practice at school.  Our goal is for most students to have memorized all facts by the end of October.  Other homework this week will follow the regular homework schedule of spelling on Monday and Wednesday and math on Tuesday and Thursday.  In addition, students need to read each night.  Please  check your child's specific math or reading homework by checking their math/reading teacher's web page.  And please don't forget: Friday night is the PTO Harvest Festival which promises to be lots of fun for everyone!

This week is a full five day week, so 4th grade will follow the regular homework routine  with spelling on Monday and Wednesday and math on Tuesday and Thursday.  Spelling tests will be given on Friday.  Math classes are finishing up X9 facts and then working with X3 and X4 multiplication facts.   McTeacher Night at the Thurston McDonald's will be Friday night from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.  Come out and support Ridgeview!
