Happy Monday!

We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and family.  We have a short week this week with Friday being a no school day for students as teachers complete progress reports.  We will have our weekly spelling test on Thursday.  Students are excited to start a science unit, Motion.  Students will study the Laws of Motion and related concepts such as gravity, friction, acceleration, speed etc.  At the end of the unit students will apply their understanding by designing a "Marble Roll" in an attempt to create a design that allows the marble to move as slowly as possible down the chute.  We are all excited!

The term is winding down with the last day of Term 1 being December 1.  This is the last day to earn points for the Reading Counts pizza lunch.  Homework this week will be assigned only on Monday and Tuesday due to the short week.  Our food donations were very generous.  Thank you!  We hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving!

With just a few short weeks until progress reports, students are working hard to finish memorizing their multiplication facts.  We are working to pass mixed facts this week.  With this being a short week, spelling will be assigned Monday and Wednesday and math homework will be on Tuesday night. The last day to pass a multiplication fact level for the ice cream sundae celebration on November 23 will be Friday, November 18th.  The last day to take a Reading Counts test for our fourth grade pizza lunch is December 1. Ridgeview's Book Fair ends Thursday, November 10. Our annual Thanksgiving Food Basket Drive begins today and will continue until November 21.  Please send non-perishable food items to your student's classroom.  The PTO will be taking care of turkeys and perishables.  Thank you for your continued support. Friday is a no school day due to Veteran's Day.
