Happy Monday!
Students with reading folders will be meeting with Mrs. Crist next week to discuss their reading goals for the summer. Ms. Abbott has put together summer packets for all students who did not meet their benchmark goal of 138 words per minute this spring. Students should continue to read each night, although parent signatures will not be tracked. We are getting ready to do final assessments in counting change using the count up method to $10.00. In addition, we are beginning a introductory unit in long division. Speeches will be given in your student's reading class beginning Wednesday, June 6. June 6 is also the last day to take a Reading Counts test. We use this information to help teachers assess students in the area of effort in reading. Also, students who meet their reading group's goal will be invited to a pizza lunch on June 12. Lastly, please send your student's teacher a $1.00 donation to cover the cost of treats for an end of the year party. Due to food allergies, we have found it easier if the teachers purchase treats for the last day of school. Donations can be turned in as soon as possible so we can plan the party and buy the treats. Thank you for all your support this year.
